11.004 PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Fifty States, DC, and Puerto Rico are officially participating in the Federal-State Cooperative Program for the preparation and publication of county population estimates. Currently 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands are participating in the State Data Center Program, and many are also in the Business and Industry Data Center (BIDC) Program. Over 1,800 State and local governmental agencies, universities and other organizations are affiliated with the programs.

11.004 ASSISTANCE CONSIDERATIONS:

Length and Time Phasing of Assistance:  Not applicable.

Uses and Use Restrictions:  Statistical, technical, and informational assistance provided to Federal, State, and local governments includes the following: (1) Technical assistance on methods of making population estimates and projections; (2) consultation services available to local officials for the planning and conducting of special surveys; (3) special censuses taken at the request and expense of local communities; (4) special surveys conducted on a reimbursable basis; and (5) assistance to States in the establishment and operation of State Data Centers and Business and Industry Data Centers to improve access to Census Bureau data by State and local agencies and other data users.

11.004 POST ASSISTANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Reports:  None.

Audits:  In accordance with the provisions of OMB Circular No. A-133 (Revised, June 24, 1997), "Audits of States, Local Governments, and Non-Profit Organizations," nonfederal entities that receive $300,000 or more in Federal awards will have a single or a program-specific audit conducted for that year. Nonfederal entities that expend less than $300,000 in Federal awards are exempt from Federal audit requirements for that year, except as noted in Circular No. A-133.
