Applicant Eligibility: Universities, environmental industry firms, other government agencies, professional organizations or institutions, agricultural input suppliers, and the public and private sectors may participate when opportunities are available and suitable to the area and structure of organizational relationships. Patent licenses are available to industry. Research laboratories, other government agencies, and private industry, may participate in contracts on a cooperative research and development basis.
Beneficiary Eligibility: Ultimate beneficiaries are the general public and professional organizations and institutions that transfer and use environmental research and development technologies or waste management and remediation techniques in a public-good network and context.
Credentials/Documentation: None. This program is excluded from coverage under OMB Circular No. A-87.
Preapplication Coordination: This program is eligible for coverage under E.O. 12372, "Intergovernmental Review of Federal Programs." An applicant should consult the office or official designated as the single point of contact in his or her State for more information on the process the State requires to be followed in applying for assistance, if the State has selected the program for review. This program is excluded from coverage under OMB Circular No. A-102.

Work continues to identify and clean up/remediate as appropriate sources of hazardous materials and chemical contamination. The sampling and analyses for all of the 59 solid waste management units (SWMU's) have been completed and the RCRA Facility Investigation Reports for all SWMU's were submitted to ADEM and EPA and approved. The Corrective Measures Study has been initiated and is scheduled for completion in fiscal year 2000. Corrective Measures Implementation is scheduled for September 2001.
